Members of MONSTA X, a K-pop boy group, have finished their mandatory military services to reunite for comeback.
MONSTA X is finally reuniting as a full six-member group for the first time in four years! On July 20, the group dropped a surprise teaser video across their social media channels, hinting at a comeback scheduled for September 1.
While exact details remain under wraps, fans are already buzzing with excitement over what’s believed to be a full-length album. This highly anticipated release will be MONSTA X’s first project with all six members — Shownu, Minhyuk, Joohoney, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and I.M — since their English album The Dreaming in 2021.

Reunited After Military Service
Since 2021, MONSTA X has been navigating the K-pop scene with a rotating lineup due to South Korea’s mandatory military service. Shownu kicked things off as the first member to enlist, followed by Minhyuk, Joohoney, Kihyun, and Hyungwon. With Hyungwon being discharged this past May, the group’s long-awaited reunion has finally become reality.
Maknae I.M has yet to enlist, and while his service is expected soon, no official date has been announced — meaning fans can enjoy the full lineup for this special comeback.
What They’ve Been Up To
Even while split between civilian life and military duty, MONSTA X has continued to deliver. From unit promotions to digital singles, the group kept fans fed with fresh content and performances. Their most recent release, NOW Project Vol. 1, dropped in May and featured re-recorded versions of past hits — giving fans a nostalgic but refreshed sound.
Their last full-length album, The Dreaming, was praised internationally for its genre-blending versatility, earning a four-star review for showcasing the group’s constant evolution. Known as K-pop’s “chameleons,” MONSTA X is once again ready to surprise the world with their new sound.
Why This Comeback Matters
For longtime fans, this isn’t just a comeback — it’s a full-circle moment. After years of solo projects, military hiatuses, and sub-units, the MONSTA X we’ve all missed is finally back together. Whether you’re a MONBEBE from day one or a newer fan, September 1 marks a milestone you won’t want to miss.
