Let’s meet Big Hit’s new boy band group next month. Attention is being raised whether they could be the next BTS.
Big Hit Music, the powerhouse label behind BTS and TXT, is gearing up to launch a brand-new five-member boy group on August 18, marking its first rookie debut in six years.

The group — made up of Martin, James, Joo-hoon, Seong-hyun, and Geon-ho — breaks from tradition with a fresh, collaborative concept. Rather than sticking to fixed roles like “main rapper” or “lead dancer,” these five teens work as a creative crew, developing their own music, choreography, and videos from scratch.

“They’re a young creator crew with a completely new and unique sensibility,” Big Hit Music said on July 14. “Each member will showcase their talents in songwriting, composing, performance, and videography, telling stories from their own perspective.”
Some of the members already have industry experience. Martin and James contributed to hit tracks like TXT’s “Deja Vu” and “Miracle,” as well as Ailette’s “Magnetic.” James also had a hand in choreographing “Deja Vu” and Ailee’s performances for “Magnetic,” “Cherish,” and “Tick-Tack.”
Details including the group’s name and debut concept are still under wraps but expected to be revealed soon.
Stay tuned – K-pop’s next chapter might just start here. (worldpopkorea@gmail.com)
