BTS RM and V receive warm goodbye from worldwide fans
BTS RM (29) and V (27) enlisted in the army as active duty soldiers on December 11. With this, all members of BTS have fulfilled their military duty.
On the 11th, RM and V entered the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam to perform their national defense duty. The two will start their military service as active duty soldiers after receiving basic military training there. The next day, Jimin (28) and Jungkook (26) will also enlist, making all members of BTS fulfill their military duty.
BIG HIT ON WEVERSE
Regarding the enlistment of BTS members, Big Hit Music, their agency, said on the fan platform Weverse on the 5th, “There will be no official event on the day of entering the training camp.” They also asked the fans not to visit the site to prevent safety accidents caused by congestion.
RM said on Weverse the day before his enlistment, “I was so happy to live as BTS for the last 10 years.” He also said, “I believe this time will be a time of new inspiration and learning for all of us.” He then said, “Goodbye for a while” and “Let’s meet in the future, wherever and whenever we are.”
V said in a live broadcast on the 5th, “I’m excited.” He also said, “The friends who go to the army with me might be younger than me, but I think I can get some freshness from talking to them.” V is known to have applied for the Special Mission Unit of the Capital Defense Command.
Jin (31), the first member of BTS to enlist last December, and J-Hope (29), who enlisted in April this year, are serving as army instructors. Suga (30), who had a shoulder injury, started his social service duty as a public service worker last September.
Meanwhile, the expected discharge date of RM and V is June 10, 2025. Jimin and Jungkook will also be discharged with a day’s difference, so the full-scale activities of BTS are expected to resume after 2025.
